Bollinger’s style and identity is divided in two famous cuvee: the “Cuvee spéciale” and “La grande année”.
The “Cuvee spéciale”, a non vintage wine produced every year, is Bollinger’s quintessential style.
It is on this particular wine Bollinger wants to be judged in order to stand out from other Champagne brands.
On the other hand, “La Grande Année“ is produced only when the harvest quality is extremely high. This is Bollinger Excellence cuvee; the vintage “Grand cru” from the Champagne region.
Bollinger then produces variations around these two key Champagne types, all of these wines boasting a strong personality.
